Summer at Walter - Concert - Eye to eye | Marrie Mooij & Shalan Alhamwy

Let yourself be carried away by Eye to eye, an intimate concert by baroque violinist Marrie Mooij and violinist and bandolim player Shalan Alhamwy. Starting from the poem Eye to eye with bated breath by Walter Vilain, both musicians create a stilled musical encounter in which poetry, sound, and emotion come together. Marrie Mooij specializes in baroque violin and worked with renowned ensembles such as A Nocte Temporis, Les Muffatti, Huelgas Ensemble, and Il Gardellino Orchestra. She teaches baroque violin at the Hoofdstedelijke Kunstacademie Brussel. Shalan Alhamwy combines influences from Western classical music, Arabic and Turkish music, and Brazilian traditions into his own, versatile musical language. Besides being a musician, he is also a composer and visual artist, with a special attention to dialogue and encounter. This concert is part of Summer at Walter, an artistic summer residency in the Vanneuvillehuis where art, music, and encounter are central.
