Andries Boone Sextet

Andries Boone (violin, octave violin, mandolin, (bass)synth) belongs to the musicians who helped shape Flemish folk over the past ten years. With his compositions, arrangements, and productions, he has opened up and redefined the genre. In September 2026, his new album Raghium Inquisitor will be released. The title refers to the gray longhorn beetle, a small beetle that symbolizes Boone's fascination with nature and its layered sound world. For this project, Boone works with two young talents who were both included in De Twintigers van Klara: Marieke Van Ransbeeck (bagpipes, baroque musette, Swedish säckpipa) and Oscar Beerten (violin, octave violin, Norwegian Hardanger fiddle). Beside them on stage are: Ward Dhoore (acoustic guitar, mandolin), Dominique Vantomme (synths, electronics) and Anouk Sanczuk (violin, nyckelharpa). This production was created in collaboration with Wesp/Merodefestival and with the support of the Flemish government.
