Niki (Leo Woodall) has a hearing condition that means the end of his promising music career, forcing him to walk through the overwhelming New York with hearing protection. Together with his mentor/father figure Harry (Dustin Hoffman), he works as a piano tuner and thus comes into contact with Ruthie (Havana Rose Liu), a music student with whom he builds a special bond. When criminals discover that Niki's exceptional hearing can also be used to crack safes, his life takes a dangerous turn. The direction is in the hands of Daniel Roher, known for the Oscar-winning documentary 'Navalny'.
Critics are especially enthusiastic about the unique and refreshing mix of genres. The film switches smoothly between a lighthearted buddy comedy, a romantic drama, and an exciting heist thriller.
Leo Woodall (known from 'The White Lotus' and 'One Day') delivers a charismatic and compelling performance. Dustin Hoffman shines in a strong supporting role as his older mentor.
