Bushcraft Café: Fire & Fire Techniques

Welcome to the Bushcraft Café on Paalkamping Arcadia in Muizen! During this edition, we will dive deep into the theme of fire —the beating heart of bushcraft and outdoor life. In a quiet, cozy setting, you will discover various traditional and modern ways to make fire. We will get to work with, among other things:   Firesteels and natural tinder   Fire striking with flint & steel, as in the old crafts   Fire bow and fire plow – authentic friction fire techniques   Practical tips regarding safety, materials, and maintaining a good campfire Dit Bushcraftcaf is hands-on , informal, and intended for a small group of about 15 participants. You choose what you experiment with and how long you stay at each station—a true place of discovery. For whom? Adults are more than welcome, and children can also participate. There is no separate children's program provided; young participants take part under supervision. From 14 years old , you can participate completely independently; younger children participate together with a parent or guardian. Above all, bring your curiosity, because making fire is simultaneously ancient, educational, and surprisingly relaxing. See you at the campfire! Extra info: We work on-site with a voluntary contribution per participant. And we also provide some drinks at democratic prices, optional. Provide outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes. We have a shelter to be able to work under cover in case of rain. Also, bring your own water bottle with drinking water: Only pump water is available at the location. If you have your own pocket knife/firesteel: Feel free to bring it along. There is an eco-toilet available on-site. Those who want to cook something themselves on the campfire afterward, that is certainly possible: provide your own supplies/cooking gear/headlamp. If you have your own fire-making gear or techniques you want to test: Let us know and definitely bring them along!
