Fredrika is a Swedish teenager who has just moved to the Italian coastal city, where she ends up in a high school class full of boys. The confident, free-spirited Scandinavian immediately finds herself at the center of (macho) attention, and not just because of her intelligence and knowledge. During the course of the year, she builds an inseparable group of friends with some of her classmates: the modest, dreamy Antero, the babbling Casanova Pasini, and the sweet, good-natured, and protective Mitis – of course all of them a little bit in love with the handsome, smart, and headstrong Swedish girl. The final year of school – hesitating between the desire for freedom, dreaming about the future, and the fear of the unknown – will leave its mark on the four forever. Five years after her handsome, promising debut 'Piccolo Corpo', director Laura Samani fully lives up to expectations with this extremely beautiful, subtle, and cheerful film about young people at a pivotal moment in their lives: the final year of high school. 'UN ANNO DI SCUOLA' is based on the novel of the same name by Giani Stuparich, who set his novel in 1909, at the high school where Samani herself went to school. She, in turn, set her film in her own high school days, and worked with four young actors who were all in front of a camera for the first time. Their wonderful acting performances caused the film to emerge as one of the prize winners at the Festival van Veneti. Recommended! UN ANNO DI SCUOLA Directed by: Laura Samani IT 2026, 102 min.
