In this concert, they rework their own songs and gems from the rich singer-songwriter tradition, where poetry, literature, and music seamlessly merge. Harmony singing is central, with Stef Kamil Carlens’s recognizable husky tenor, Nel Ponsaers’s velvet-soft alto, and Rahmat Emonds’s soulful soprano. The music of THE POEM is minimalist, pure, and sensitive, but full of adventure. Each of the three musicians also comes forward solo, which brings each song to life from its own perspective. With a wide selection of special instruments - from guitars and basses to analog synths and even an automated snare drum - they create an immersive, intimate atmosphere. After his successful tour with the energetic band THE SWOON in 2024, in which he impressed with funky grooves and colorful live shows, SKC is ready in 2025 to push the boundaries of the singer-songwriter genre again. It is an urgent and inspired work full of intelligent rock ’n roll, misty psychedelia, and cosmic folk. This new music often sounds dark and angry, but is at the same time colorful, imaginative, and refined. It is a fascinating, crackling, energetic brew. The core of Flying Horseman is still Bert Dockx, with his intense, highly personal songs, vocals, and guitar playing. But the group's lineup has changed, with Louis Evrard (Pruillip, Ottla, Grid Ravage) and Maximilian Dobbertin (Calicos, Frankie Fame) in the ranks today. Furthermore, Flying Horseman is also the passion project of Loesje and Martha Maieu, who have been part of it for almost as long as the frontman. As always, they also provide essential ingredients to create the unique flavor of Flying Horseman. Their ghostly vocals and atmospheric synth sounds contrast beautifully with the more earthy vocals of Dockx and his restless, fiery guitar playing.
