The conflict, a transformative dynamic

Mon, 2 Nov 2026 · 09:00
Présence et Action Culturelles - Générale, Brussels
Too often, conflicts are perceived as disturbances to be avoided or fled. However, they are in reality powerful revealers of what inhabits us: our needs, our wounds, our limits, but also our desires for connection, recognition and justice. Looking conflicts in the face and agreeing to go through them is a radical and courageous act that allows for intimate and societal transformations. This training addresses the notions and basic practices of interpersonal conflict management but also in associative and/or militant environments, crossed just as much by classist, sexist, racist, and colonial relations of domination. Target audience: To professionals in the social and cultural sector, to designated trusted persons within associations, to anyone who wishes to develop a power to act on interpersonal and collective conflicts. Trainers: Sophie Hustinx is a jurist and mediator, an activist committed to developing a reflection and practices of “transformative justice”, she trains in mediation with a specific approach on systemic dominations. She has been practicing conflict management in all types of environments (hospital, associative, collectives, family planning, artistic environment, militant, etc.) for 15 years. Olivia Welke, animator and facilitator, has been working in the Permanent Education sector for about twenty years. She is the coordinator of training at PAC. She was trained in mediation by Sophie Hustinx. Together, they founded in 2025 the transformative justice collective “Kabane” which takes charge of situations of conflict, crisis and violence.
