De Belgische soprano Emma Posman graduated with highest honors, her Master Diploma Zang at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Gent where she studied with, among others, the Belgian soprano Hendrickje Van Kerckhove. She was selected for the MM-ACADEMY of La Monnaie. During her training, she attended masterclasses with Malcolm Martineau, the mezzo-sopranos Bernarda Fink and Christianne Stotijn, David Selig, Giuliano Carella), Edda Moser, Claudia Visca, Jean-Claude Van den Eynden, Valerie Girard, Dietrich Henschel, Zeger Vandersteene and Iva Barthelemy. Her hybrid voice allows her to be cast in multiple soprano roles. Both in bel canto and in Mozart parts or in lighter roles from the German romantic repertoire. This season, Emma Posman will, among other things, make her debut with the Socttish Chamber orchestra (in concert arias by Mozart) and at the Turin Opera in Suor Angelica . Over the past two years, Emma Posman has been heard repeatedly at La Monnaie. She made appearances there as Masha and Prelipa in a new production of Tchaikovsky's Pique Dame , as Talus in the world premiere of Howard Moody's Solar and as Nuova novizia in Suor Angelica in a new production of Puccini's Trittico . Ignace Michiels (°1963) studied organ, piano, and harpsichord at the Academie van Brugge (Belgium), his hometown. In 1986, he won a prize at the Institut Lemmens in Leuven. He further developed his talent as a musician with Robert Anderson at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, at the Koninklijke Academie van Brussel with Herman Verschraegen, and with Odile Pierre at the Conservatorium van Parijs, where he obtained the prestigious Prix d'Excellence. He also obtained the Hoger Diploma organ music at the Koninklijke Academie van Gent. Ignace Michiels is an organ professor at the Faculteit Muziek of the Hogeschool Gent. He also teaches organ at the Music Academy in Bruges and is the titular organist of the Saint Salvator Cathedral in that city, where he organizes the annual international organ festival. His repertoire includes the complete organ works of Bach, Franck, Mendelssohn, Dupré, and Messiaen, the symphonies of Widor and Vierne, and the organ sonatas of Guilmant and Rheinberger. As an organist, he gives concerts, both solo and with orchestra or choir, in many locations all over the world. In addition, he is a welcome guest on the jury of international organ competitions and a teacher in workshops and masterclasses. Ignace Michiels has also realized various CD productions.
