In a beautiful portrait of a bygone era, two talented music students, Lionel and David, meet in 1917 in a bustling bar in New England. Their shared love for folk music brings them closer together. De Eerste Wereldoorlog, however, drives them apart. After the war, they find each other again and travel through the heart of America singing and playing music. They are happy, but know that, in the world they live in, their happiness cannot last. Paul Mescal (Hamnet) and Josh O'Connor (La Chimera) once again confirm their status as two of the most versatile actors of the moment. Directed by South African director Oliver Hermanus (Living), they bring a tragic, but beautiful love story.
