Our first Nice t(w)o meet you of the new season is a real LUCA Drama edition because Zolang we spelen (As long as we play) and We can’t help ourselves and there is nothing we can do about it are both graduation performances by LUCA Drama master students. So, a lot of young talent on stage! And the now-known concept: one ticket, two performances by makers who have not been in CCHA before, with a cozy drink and chat in between. We can’t help ourselves and there is nothing we can do about it The true story of the legendary ship The Endurance, which got stuck in the Antarctic ice in 1915, forms the basis for this performance. For months, the ship's crew was stuck in a desolate landscape. Despite the completely hopeless situation, all crew members survived by sticking to routines, rituals, and especially by cherishing hope. With this piece, the young makers want to pay tribute to the unnameable capacity of a group and to the unprecedented forces of nature. Expect a total experience in which disciplines merge: music, theater, visual arts, scent, light, and technology. Zolang we spelen What does it mean to have to find each other and yourself again and again in a relationship? In Zolang we spelen, we see two people on stage who keep practicing their love. They play each other, repeat old scenes, invent new ones. They talk about work, sex, power, and tenderness. Always in the hope of touching something real again. The living room becomes a cinematic set in which reality and fiction merge. From outside the walls, the world penetrates, because - as it becomes clear – love exists not only between two people, but also in relation to the world outside. Or between players and audience. Because without play, no love.
