Thematic Day In Memoriam Benjamin Britten: Illuminations

The closing concert of the theme day consists exclusively of masterpieces. Les Illuminations and the Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings are gems of sound nuance and subtle text expression. With his Variations, Benjamin Britten then brought a vibrant tribute to his most important teacher, Frank Bridge. The three works are all genuine 'Britten', but at the same time also very varied in their form and expression. David Ramael and his Boho Strings Antwerp have cherished a deep love for the music of the Englishman for years. That is not only because Britten writes so stunningly well for strings, but also, and perhaps even more so, because his message of humanity and 'compassion' is so inspiring. (part of Theme Day 2026)
