A city buzzing with voices, squares resounding in unison, unexpected music around every corner: Leuven beKOORt is back! On Sunday 27 September, Leuven’s lower town will once again be transformed into one huge open-air stage, where singing brings the city together and surprises everyone. Together with the Leuven-based amateur choir Kooruwel, we invite you to the third edition of this choir festival, full of discovery and new encounters. Following two successful editions, Leuven beKOORt continues to grow into a celebration for every voice and every ear. Fifty amateur choirs, comprising more than 1,000 singers, will together stage 100 concerts across 24 venues. From intimate indoor venues to open spaces in the city, and a few surprising locations you rarely get to visit. New venues include the Botanical Gardens, Justus Lipsius College and the Villa aan de Aa. Children’s choirs and adult ensembles, classical and contemporary, familiar and surprising: the programme showcases just how rich and diverse the world of choral music is today. Each choir will perform two 20-minute concerts, allowing you, the audience, to create your own itinerary and move effortlessly from one atmosphere to another.
