Walking between knights and brewers: a Sunday full of wonder at Donjon Ter Heyden

Did you know that the iconic tower of Rotselaar has been watching over the Demer Valley for 650 years? That nobility once walked these floors, and that a beer called ‘dikkop’ was brewed here that even won awards in Rotterdam? On a summer Sunday in July, the Hageland Guides and non-profit organization Donjon Ter Heyden will take you on a unique journey through time. What can you expect? A relaxing nature walk (4 km) under the rustling poplars of the Demer Valley. An exclusive look behind the historic walls of the Donjon. We will climb the tower and discover every hidden corner and the fascinating story of the former brewery. We will conclude with a tasty treat in the cozy café with a glass of the family beer Witlov K (8°) and an artisanal praline from chocolatier Stuyven. Prefer no beer? Don't worry, there is a delicious alternative!. When : Sunday, July 5, from 14:00 to 17:00 (café open until 18:00). Starting point : Torenhoflaan 67 - 3110 Rotselaar. Distance of the walk: just under 4 kilometers – Duration: about an hour. Walking shoes are always useful. The walk is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. Parking is available at Sportoase De Toren, Torenstraat 115 (300m walking distance) Participation : €12 Your contribution goes entirely to the much-needed restoration of the tower.
