'The Music of Ennio Morricone' by Le Muse

An evening full of iconic film music: Le Muse and Angelica Depaoli give Morricone’s masterpieces an impressive, warm-blooded stage sound. After many sold-out concerts with standing ovations in Europe, Le Muse is finally returning to Belgium. Ensemble Le Muse has an orchestral lineup of instrumentalists who earned their stripes with the famous musical group Rondò Veneziano. The orchestra is assisted by vocalist Angelica Depaoli, who touches the souls of the audience with her voice and conjures emotional film moments onto the retina. On the program are numerous famous soundtracks from the impressive oeuvre of Morricone. Beautifully performed soundtracks, supported by film footage and photos, and enriched with anecdotes and historical and biographical facts by conductor Andrea Albertini, create a magical atmosphere during the performances of this special Italian ensemble. The music of 'Maestro' Ennio Morricone is iconic. With some 500 soundtracks for major cinema films, including 70 award-winning motion pictures, he is one of the most influential musicians of our time. Ensemble Le Muse brilliantly performs that musical treasure in an impressive homage to the Italian music legend. Morricone's oeuvre includes the music for more than 70 award-winning films, including all films by Sergio Leone from "the Dollars trilogy", such as "Once Upon a Time in the West" and "Once Upon a Time in America", all films by Giuseppe Tornatore from "Nuovo cinema Paradiso", "The Battle of Algiers", Bernardo Bertolucci’s "1900", "Exorcist II", "Days of Heaven", various successful French films, such as "La Cage aux folles" and various Hollywood films, including "The Thing", Roland Joffés “The Mission”, “The Untouchables” (1987) by Brian De Palma, Barry Levinsons "Bugsy" (1991), Mike Nichols’ "Wolf" (1994), "Mission to Mars" (2000) and Quentin Tarantino’s "The Hateful Eight" (2015). Morricone’s music was also extensively used in, among others, Quentin Tarantino’s "Kill Bill" (2003–2004), "Inglourious Basterds" (2009) and "Django Unchained" (2012), "The Boat That Rocked" and series like "The Simpsons" and "The Sopranos".
