A deep dive into the oeuvre of the Ierse Rockgoden with live music and strong anecdotes
Energetic – story-driven – music history - storytelling concert
U2 is turning 50! A golden wedding within pop music signed by one of the biggest rock bands on this planet! Bono, The Edge, Larry, and Adam can get on the bus and train with a senior discount as of this year! But the Irish foursome is fortunately not thinking about their retirement yet, and after the groundbreaking concerts in The Sphere van Las Vegas, their story is now coming closer to home.
Auteur Bart Steenhaut has meanwhile been a music journalist for more than 30 years for, among others, De Morgen and also published the bestseller Bono 65. Now he brings the life story about one of the most iconic bands in the world to the Flemish theaters. Expect grand moments, small anecdotes, and personal experiences with U2 ... both in front of and behind the scenes.
Bart is musically assisted by a rock band with attitude. Philip Bosschaerts won Humo’s rock rally with Mintzkov Luna, and is flanked by guitarist David Piedford (The Scabs), drummer Arnout Hellofs (Hooverphonic), and bassist Jan Ieven (Roland and El Fish). They color the evening musically with U2 classics and lesser-known album tracks.
