Nele and the seven schlagers - Nele Bauwens

Cabaretière Nele Bauwens takes us to the café of aunt José from her childhood. Tante José, with her 1m53 and her bright, shocking red haircut, was a real flirt: she ran her café as if it were her own dysfunctional but warm family. It was her life, the customers her family. Besides that: her real family, including niece Neleke, who let herself be immersed by her aunt in the world of schlagers and life songs. Just like with aunt José, phrases from schlagers force themselves into her real thoughts. Their own form of Tourette, also known in science as ‘Oempalapapero syndrome’. Naturally, this condition often leads to hilarious situations and beautiful songs.
