Jozef Wouters - A Day is a Hundred Years

A poetic visual fable as only Jozef Wouters makes! In ‘A Day is a Hundred Years’, Jozef Wouters weaves the story of his Brusselse Decoratelier with that of concierge and artist, Barry Ahmad Talib, with whom he has shared the studio since 2019. While working, conversations grow that connect Sagale and Brussels. They create a poetic space between here and there, between work and life. With the facade of the Decoratelier as a pivot, the performance shows how open and closed, private and public, constantly overlap. Classical theater elements such as backdrops and trompe-l'oeil go hand in hand with a rotating stage and a cast that consists mainly of technicians. This creates a visual fable about how we shape our environment together.
