Almost Summer: Replays / Anouk Llaurens

How does dance heritage feed the creations and research of today? Replays is a virtual exhibition by Anouk Llaurens, highlighting the work of about thirty choreographers, teachers, researchers, and publishers who have been influenced by Lisa Nelsons Tuning Scores. Together with artist-researchers Eva Maes and Julien Bruneau, they activate their publication. They conclude with a guided feedback exercise with the audience, where everyone can share how this session touched them. Lisa Nelson is a choreographer, improvisation talent, and artist who has been involved since the 70s with the role of the senses in performing and perceiving movement. Based on research into video and dance, she developed an approach to real-time editing and performance that she calls Tuning Scores . It is a working method and a format for spontaneous, improvised composition that functions as both a performance and a research instrument. Participants use a combination of movement, verbal ‘calls’, and sensory engagement with the environment to negotiate their collective understanding of space, time, and movement. The scores promote a dynamic feedback system in which each participant acts as performer, director, and spectator, creating a shared, ever-evolving ‘image space’.
