Davidsfonds Blankenberge is organizing this guided day trip. We drive with our own transport to the prosthesis company Eqwal Ability in Oostakker, where we get a unique look behind the scenes at this company for medical aids. We follow the process from production to showroom and discover how all kinds of aids and custom-made prostheses are made. Here, among others, a multidisciplinary team of recognized healthcare providers, podiatrists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists also work to provide the best possible solution with a heart for people. After lunch together, we head to the castle of Laarne in the afternoon. This castle is a beautifully preserved medieval water castle. Here we dive into the dark history of the 17th century and the witch hunts in Laarne. In the castle tower, women and men who deviated from the norm in society were tortured. We visit the imposing rooms such as the chapel with medieval murals, the fairy-tale courtyard, and the rooms with a beautiful silver collection. This visit is guaranteed to leave an impression. It will be a day full of discoveries, stories, and unique experiences!
