Concert BAERTMAN

Baertman is releasing his first single! In this project bringing together pianist Pieter Baert and drummer and electronic music creator Jan Heirman, the musicians mix jazz, improvisations, and contemporary electronic music. Chez Baertman, improvisation is the starting point. The compositions are born from interaction and dialogue. The generation gap between the two musicians is not a contradiction, but a driving force. The group has an energetic and urban sound, but at the same time fragile and spiritual. Pieter Baert has built an eclectic career both inside and outside the jazz scene, with collaborations notably with Stef Kamiel Carlens, Tango02, and SonBacàn. He has performed on international stages, including the Carnegie Hall (New York), and has developed a lyrical piano style, focused on sound, where improvisation occupies a central place. His music is rooted in tradition, but constantly seeks to experiment. Jan Heirman has developed in an urban and electronic context with projects such as M.CHUZI, Okkupeerder, and MeyanDR.
