Ivan & Emile - Clavardages When Toen Bart Peeters decided to take a musical breather in 2011, Ivan and Emile seized that moment to develop an instrumental program together. From this grew their first CD Couleurs , followed by a successful concert series at home and abroad, with performances in, among others, Flagey, de Roma, Italy, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. In addition to their many concerts, they also composed the film music together for the Argentine feature film La Tierra Roja , which was released in cinemas in May 2015. Ivan and Emile are kindred spirits and musical omnivores. As a duo, they have meanwhile built a strong live reputation, in which lyricism and melancholy effortlessly transition into playfulness and virtuosity. The chemistry between both musicians on stage is disarming and sincere. The boundary between fragile and intimate on the one hand, and grand and energetic on the other, is razor-thin — sometimes you imagine yourself in the presence of a full orchestra. With Clavardages , they dive back into their idiosyncratic sound world of violin and accordion. They explore new musical terrains in search of deeper sound colors and rich melodies, sometimes supplemented with the voice as an extra instrument. As crossover musicians, they draw from a wide range of styles. Their music comes straight from the heart — and leaves the audience doing nothing but enjoying it intensely.
