Mona Verhas & Wouter Valvekens - Violin and piano recital

Violiste Mona Verhas began playing the violin at the age of four and later studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Antwerpen and the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main. In 2019, she founded her own string quartet, the Sonoro Quartet. Since 2021, Mona has been co-principal second violin at the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, and in 2023 she became co-concertmaster there. Concertpianist Wouter Valvekens began studying piano at the age of six and was at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen and the Royal Academy of Music in London. His first album, Masques (2023), was critically acclaimed. In addition, he specializes in historical instruments. Wouter also founded the chamber music ensemble Trio Aries with two colleagues, which gave a memorable concert in Schouwburg De Kern in 2023.
