Three actors on the sidelines undertake a theatrical tour full of unforeseen events and twists. Georges Cox, Victor Vialat and Eddie Carpentier are old actors on the comeback. One is chasing a paycheck, the second is struggling with retirement, the third has such a reputation that no one wants to hire him anymore. All three nevertheless manage to get hired in a play: a mediocre boulevard play called Scoubidou, with Carla Milo, an eccentric diva, in the title role. Their producer, Chapiron Jr., riddled with debt, will do everything to sabotage their tour and thus collect the insurance money. But the three actors resist with panache to defend their small roles and not let pass what could well be the last chance of their lives. A touching tribute to the life of an artist!
