BURN FESTIVAL

On Saturday, July 11, the Burn Festival will once again descend upon the courtyard of the Romaanse Poort, next to Jeugdcentrum Vleugel F in Leuven. Burn Leuven, the urban youth work of the city, is transforming the square into a vibrant and free festival where hip-hop music, creativity, and meeting people are central. The day will be hosted by Sausababy. Burn Festival is more than a hip-hop festival; it is a community event where different styles, stories, and backgrounds come together. From singing and rap to graffiti, breaking, and beatmaking, all elements of hip-hop culture have a place. Lokaal Leuvens talent meets established names from home and abroad. In the line-up, Idaly, Isabèl Usher, and MocroManiac are coming to Leuven and representing Dutch hip-hop and R&B. Leuven talents Desko, Chinoir, and Maxxo Vision show that the future of the Leuven rap and producer scene is assured. A special moment will be the Burn Mixtape Showcase, a set that was written and produced over the past year together with the young people of Burn Leuven. For the closer, Leuven DJ Hygra will once again provide a legendary closing set after last year's success. In addition to the performances on the main stage, there is an extensive program of side activities: the 3000 Breaks Battle in which the Leuven and regional breaking scene competes against each other, Jam House as an open jam session for dancers and performers, the Beat Battle in which producers compete for the title of best beatmaker, live graffiti art on the site with Roncha, free care by Burn Barbers, and a Thrift Store with second-hand streetwear from local sellers.
