De Belgische military cemetery of De Panne has a clear link with the Rode Kruishospitaal L’Ocean on the seawall and the military field hospital on the Cabour domain. It is the largest in Flanders and has been protected as a monument since 2008. There are 3744 dead buried: 3366 Belgians from the Eerste Wereldoorlog, of which 811 are unknown. There are also 342 dead from WWII buried, including 42 unknown.
