Trio Les Misérables

Mikhail Bezverkhni, violinist and also respected painter, was born in Leningrad (former USSR) in 1947. This living violin legend is turning 80 and was already the winner of the Koningin Elisabeth Wedstrijd 1976 50 years ago. After 14 years of forced house arrest by the Russian KGB, he was only able to definitively emigrate to Belgium in 1990 and has lived in Ghent ever since. His somewhat shabby appearance is only the veil of his ambivalent relationship as an artist towards his audience. He no longer wants to stand on large stages and prefers to play in small venues or on the street. Anastasia Kenner-Kozhushko is one of the most expressive and emotional pianists of her generation, known for her unique interpretations, virtuosity, and charismatic appearance. She was born in Ukraine and studied at the world-famous International Piano Academy of Imola (Italy). Subsequently, she also obtained Master's degrees at the Conservatorium Gent and Lemmensinstituut Leuven. She has been playing concerts on international stages since she was 6 years old and has won more than 20 international piano competitions. Zhaina Kydyrova was born in Kazakhstan in 1972. She started at the age of 11 at the special music school K. Bajseitova in Almaty (Kazakhstan) and graduated there in 1991. Afterward, she started her studies at the Conservatorium van Almaty. She came to Belgium in 2013 and started her own training institute for piano & cello. This international top cellist is at home in various genres such as chamber music, opera, and symphonic orchestras. Together, these exceptional musicians form the trio ‘Les Misérables’ and bring the widely known violin concertos ‘De Vier Jaargetijden’ by Antonio Vivaldi, arranged for piano trio with unique violin cadenzas by Mikhail Bezverkhny.
