26/9 Florian De Schepper, alias “Flo”, is a Belgian guitarist from Ghent who has been in the folk scene since childhood. With bands like Bogus and Broes, with which he already won quite a few prizes and competitions in his teenage years, but also with Les Bandits de Belleville and Loogaroo, he put himself in the spotlight in the Belgian music landscape. Florian has also already caused a stir internationally. He performed in more than 10 countries in Europe and he even gave concerts in China several times. He was nominated for 'best album' and 'best live band' for the 'Flanders Folk Awards' and has already released 8 albums. Recently, Florian has been playing solo under the name “Flo”, with which he brings his own eclectic compositions on acoustic guitar. His unique playing style, in which he combines folk with classical, jazz, and various worldly styles, makes him an all-round guitarist who likes to go in search of the exotic. In 2022, Florian decided to travel to 10 islands in the south of Europe with only a backpack and an acoustic guitar. On each island, he wrote a new tune, each with its own story and specific guitar tuning. Flo's compositions transcend language and culture and speak directly to the hearts of his listeners. His music tells stories of love, nature, and the beauty that lies in simplicity. Through his sensitive yet rhythmic playing, he knows how to capture the emotions and experiences that make each island unique. 'Islas' is a musical travel story of a man with a plan: to discover new places and broaden his musical horizon. The album Islas was presented on both Radio 1 and Klara. With his solo project, Florian received a Flanders Folk Award in 2025 for most promising artist.
