Bij Sint - Pieter and Saint Barbara visiting

One of the gems of our city is certainly the Saint Peter and Saint Barbara Church on the Grote Markt. Bij de Turnhoutenaar it is better known as the “inner church”. The simplicity of the exterior does not suggest the beautiful splendor that the interior offers. The pulpit, the stained-glass windows, the organ, and the altars: they bear witness to centuries of devotion. These images teach us what inspired our ancestors and how. Where does the artistically carved choir stall come from? What about the brotherhoods? Why was that stained-glass window donated to the church by that family? Regardless of any religious conviction, we are impressed by the symbolism and the stories that are expressed here.
