White splendor - LAZARUS & Het NUT

A heated sauna. Inside, world problems are reduced to trade opportunities. Where panic reigns, a lot of money can be made. The sauna visitors know this too. If you position yourself on the right side of the tilting history, the cents roll your way automatically. Time passes. Stuffed, the gentlemen and ladies in the sauna continue to make their shady deals, push their feelings of empathy aside, hide their desires, and avoid each other's eyes. Blind to the fact that life will change irrevocably, unrecognizably, and revolutionarily. After which the world will be divided into a before and an after. Witte weelde is an exploration of willful powerlessness, wearing time, disturbed communication between people, and the human striving (and failure) for meaning and connection. LAZARUS joins forces with Het NUT (Nieuw Utrechts Toneel). With their shared love for Russian classics, the humor and tragedy of life, and theater as a mirror for society as a foundation.
