Adem brings, in collaboration with the Gemeente Bierbeek, the performance ‘Parenting, how so…!?’ to Bierbeek. In this humorous and inspiring theater show, Marieke van Ginneken and Ilse van den Heuvel take you into the world of Verbindend Gezag and Geweldloos Verzet. Tools that we also use within Adem in the guidance of children and young people. Expect an evening full of eye-openers, practical tools, and above all, a lot of recognition. For parents, caregivers, and teachers who want to go home with new energy and a fresh perspective. Have you ever been at your wit's end because your child won't listen? Do you wonder how to stay calm when your teenager explodes? So, no dry theory, but recognizable situations, sharp insights, and a healthy dose of self-mockery. You will discover why punishing and rewarding often doesn't work, get – sometimes unsolicited – advice, and learn how to stand firm as a parent without losing the connection. This performance is part of BRUIS, an initiative of Adem with which they focus on connection with the neighborhood. With this performance, you learn about non-violent resistance as a framework for yourself as a (grand)parent, teacher, or educator. And at the same time, you learn about the substantive operation of Adem.
