Fair Sunday: Sitting Duck + Los Bandos

5 PM - Sitting Duck? ... that's a swinging, bluesy combo that has been providing the better street, school, wedding, neighborhood, birthday, and house-garden-and-kitchen parties with musical fireworks for years with incredible enthusiasm. ... that's a mix of own songs and quirky arrangements of pearls from 100 years of pop music history: from Robert Johnson to Destiny’s Child, from Irving Berlin to Nirvana. If it sounds, it sounds. ... that's three strong voices that provide sparkling polyphonic highlights, well supported by four old hands on guitar, more guitar, double bass, and harmonica. ... that's swinging enjoyment. 8 PM - Los Bandos 6.1 is a six-man formation known among other things from the many picnic concerts consisting of Wetteren musicians (local heroes therefore) They play juicy swinging covers, sometimes in a new jacket and sometimes not but always with a quirky contribution. That it swings is in any case a certainty! Especially thanks to these fantastic musicians: - Joris Holderbeke (Wetteren), the most mature and experienced bassist of Wetteren and surroundings. - Wim Van Poucke (Wetteren) singer at heart, at home in multiple genres. - Piet Vercauteren (Turnhout but born and raised in Wetteren) alias Peddlin’ Pete and PD Martin. - Noortje Mandos (Wetteren), daughter of, but above all a lady with a fantastic voice and timing. - Vincent (Vinnie) Francois, known from Lefwerk and The Grasroots - Hein Mandos keys and arrangements.
