From there we drive to Ypres where we pick up our expert guide Philippe Despriet, a true connoisseur of French Flanders. With him, we explore Saint-Omer, both the upper and lower town. The oldest core is around the Saint-Bertin Abbey, an important center for art and culture from the 7th to the 18th century. Visit to the 'market' (town hall from 1834) and the cathedral (16th century)… On Saturday, August 1, 2026, we travel together to Northern France. At 7 am we depart from the town hall in Blankenberge and provide another stop in B-Park Brugge. We drive through a beautiful nature reserve to Volckerinckhove where we will have lunch: soup, chicken leg prepared in beer, fries and chocolate mousse. Drinks package included. In the afternoon we drive along Millam and Watten and take a guided tour of the Blockhaus d’Eperlecques, a World War II launch base for the V2 rockets and secret weapons of the Germans. The surrounding area is known for its many sites with war memories. Langs Wizernes with its large underground V2 launch base, we drive to Ypres for our evening stop: bread board with a local beer.
