The Nutcracker | Katrijn Govaert, Nathalie Bosch & Sofie Hugo

It is Christmas Eve. Clara receives a Nutcracker from Uncle Drosselmeier. At night it comes to life and fights together with the other toys against the mouse king. Om Clara to thank for her help in the fight, the Nutcracker takes her to a magical dream world. The fairy tale evokes the special mood of Christmas Eve and adds the childlike view as an enchanting, second reality full of tension and poetry… and music of course. Reality and imagination are intertwined in a special way to the music of Tchaikovsky. Katrijn Govaert (narrator), Nathalie Bosch (flute) and Sofie Hugo (clarinet) introduce children to accessible classical music and the story behind the melody. The parents enjoy the recognizable music, the childlike fantasy and the winks to adults.
