Fontana d'Israel, a refreshing bath in the early Baroque

Let yourself be refreshed during the weekend of the summer solstice with a music fountain that flows from the creative mind of conductor Pieter De Moor . The program is entirely dedicated to water and is built around the impressive Fontana d’Israel by Johann Hermann Schein . This is a collection of beautiful and groundbreaking spiritual madrigals that was published in 1623. Other musical streams flow into our music fountain from Naast Schein’s friend Schütz , originating from the tears of the English madrigalists Gibbons and Dowland , and from works by composers such as Palestrina and Bach .
