Open air cinema: William Kentridge short films

This screening will take place in our cinema The 23. Due to weather conditions, the programme has been moved indoors from the Bozar Rooftop. Admission remains free and the screening time is unchanged.This open-air programme brings together four short films from William Kentridge's early animation practice, from the student work Discourse on a Chair, a premature example of his satirical approach to authority and power, to films from the renowned Drawings for Projection series. Through the recurring figures of Soho Eckstein, a wealthy Johannesburg industrialist, and Felix Teitelbaum, his introspective counterpart, Kentridge explores the complexities of South African society during a period of political and social transformation.
