The invite

The marriage of Angela (Olivia Wilde) and Joe (Seth Rogen) has been in a rut for a while and is characterized by neurotic bickering. Their eccentric upstairs neighbors Hawk (Edward Norton) and Pina (Penélope Cruz) turn out to be particularly active especially at night, to Joe's great annoyance. When Wanneer Angela invites them for dinner, Joe sees this as the ultimate opportunity to confront them. What follows is an evening full of unexpected twists, which none of them will soon forget... Filmmaker and actress Olivia Wilde ('Booksmart', 'Don't Worry Darling') and screenwriters Will McCormack and Rashida Jones based this razor-sharp comedy on the Spanish film 'Sentimental', which already received a remake in several countries. 'The Invite' is a hilarious and poignant portrait about sex, relationships, and marriage and constantly throws the viewer off balance. The film was therefore received with raving enthusiasm during its world premiere in Sundance.
