Then we have the ideal alternative: a top film projected on a large outdoor screen in the forest, cozy in your own chair, with a nice warm blanket pulled up to your chin, snacks on your lap. Welcome to 'Film in the Forest'! Together with Bos+, the community center is organizing a screening of the wonderful film 'De Acht Bergen' by Felix Van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch in Recreatiedomein De Mosten. This 2022 film achieved great heights and even walked away with the jury prize at the Cannes Film Festival. A unique opportunity, therefore, to experience this film once again on the big screen in a wonderfully cozy setting. Felix Van Groeningen brings the rich and touching story of author Paolo Cognetti's international bestseller to the silver screen in De Acht Bergen. The story centers on the friendship between Pietro and Bruno, a city boy and a mountain boy. They become friends when they are eleven, with a forgotten patch of the Alps as their kingdom. The children grow into men, their lives stretch out. They lose each other and find each other again. While Terwijl Bruno stays true to his mountain, Pietro wanders the world. A journey in love and loneliness, across origins and destinations, transcending friendship, life, and death. On Saturday, September 26, De Mosten will briefly transform into the breathtaking Italiaanse Alpen. You definitely want to be there!? Praktisch De film starts at 8:00 PM in Recreatiedomein De Mosten (Hoogeind 74, 2321 Hoogstraten). You are welcome from 7:30 PM to find a spot and get settled in cozy. Admission is free, but it is helpful if you register in advance. You can bring your own snacks, but you can also buy something on-site at the Treehouse Bar. Bring your own chair and blanket! A flashlight and mosquito repellent can also come in handy. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed.
