Cinema Westside - Christy and His Brother

A heartwarming Irish coming-of-age story about seventeen-year-old Christy, who, after a difficult childhood, ends up with his half-brother Shane and his family in Cork. What first feels like a temporary solution slowly grows into a place where he can feel at home thanks to the warm, close-knit community that embraces him. But as Christy finds his way to adulthood, he is also confronted with his past. Together, the brothers must face what binds them and what future they want to build. Hoofdrolspeler Danny Power has no acting experience. The director Brendan Canty found him in 'The Kabin Studio', a youth organization in the north of Cork where children gather in a container to make hip-hop. You feel that authenticity in every minute of this heartwarming coming-of-age film.
