The Crane: Hap (合) is an immersive contemporary music project that transcends boundaries and brings worlds together. A unique ensemble of piano, double bass, violin, janggu, and haegeum creates a rich, layered sound in which tradition and innovation meet. Rooted in the emotional depth of the Korean musical tradition, this project breathes a refined musicality, carried by subtle phrasing, expressive breathing, and a deep rhythmic sensitivity. The characteristic timbres and the dynamics of jangdan – traditional rhythmic cycles – form the beating heart of the compositions. At the same time, The Crane: Hap (合) opens the door to new musical landscapes by seamlessly weaving in influences from Western classical music and jazz. The result is an intriguing, boundary-pushing listening experience that feels both familiar and surprising – an invitation to let yourself be carried away into a world of sound, emotion, and connection.
