Summer Concert Marcelle

Enjoy the performance by Marcelle (solo) in the cozy courtyard of Bibliotheek Evergem. Marcelle is the project of singer-songwriter and producer Marte Truyers, who studied at the conservatory in Ghent. It is an ode to Marcel, her deceased rooster, and to all uncles with beer bellies. Intimately and organically, she brings melodies that are fluidly longing and shiningly healing. Her songs are the comfort that hides behind an embrace, while polyphonically flirting with that which already exists. The headstrong wanting that does not have to be. Inspired by brunettes like Feist, Adrianne Lenker, PJ Harvey, and Joan Baez, she places purity at the forefront in narrative form, to soothe the mood and to let the word shine just as much. Marcelle is for all that grows in daylight and is nevertheless a home for all doubters. The library provides snacks and drinks. Registration is not necessary.
