Film: Green watchers

Watch this documentary by Sanne Rovers about nature conservation in the presence of the female director. You can combine this screening with a dinner at the EcoCafé.\n\n\"Love for nature begins with watching closely,\" says Jacques Rovers, father of director Sanne Rovers, protector of wild plants for over 35 years.\n\nThis became the starting point for Sanne’s film Green Watchers, in which the director turns a feeling of powerlessness over the loss of nature into a visual ode to nature conservationists. Alongside her father, we meet, among others, the striking trio Henk, Guido, and Paul who have been counting insects for over 20 years; the flamboyant Herman, an estate owner looking for a sustainable balance in the forest; Celine, a farmer's daughter and bird protector through and through; or Nicky, a sympathetic urban activist with a butterfly garden. We share their small discoveries and successes. But we also sometimes experience their feeling of despair. Green Watchers is a poetic and urgent mosaic film about love for nature, grief for what is disappearing, and hope for what can change.\n\nYou can read more information about the film here, or discover it in the trailer at the bottom of this page.\n\nRegie Sanne Rovers, Producent Docmakers / Ilja Roomans, Broadcaster NTR.\nThis documentary was produced with the support of CoBO and AFK, developed with the support of the NPO fund.\n\nFlow of the evening\n\n5:30 PM to 7:00 PM: Evening meal at the EcoCafé for whoever wants.
