Tenth album ‘in grief or in hope’ (2026, Thrill Jockey) brings a compelling mix of electro-acoustic sounds, drone, noise, and melody, with themes such as grief, hope, and the human condition as a common thread. On ‘in grief or in hope’, BIG|BRAVE opts for a more guitar-driven sound. The live-recorded songs sound rich and layered, with a fascinating interplay of distorted guitars, subtle harmonies, and Robin Watties's mesmerizing voice. Influences from drone, electronica, and heavy music flow effortlessly together with the structure of pop songs. ‘in grief or in hope’ forms both a tribute to the past and a step forward.
