Between grotesque fever dream and reality check
Nona Demey Gallagher creates a satirical universe full of grotesque figures, where politics, pop culture and madness flow into each other. The central question: how do you live and survive in a loveless world? Starting from Kathy Ackers cult novel ‘Don Quixote, which was a dream’ (1986) she reworks, together with Jana Antonissen, the classic quest into a whimsical search for love and meaning. No chivalrous hero story, but a collision with the insane reality. Expect an exuberant and unsettling performance with live music, exuberant costumes and razor-sharp text.
