Opening Night ARS MUSICA: Night Lives | Kristine Tjøgersen

Acoustic and electropop Cikada Ensemble Sonorités, dancing bats, and ultraviolet light: welcome to Night Lives – the life of species that sing in the dark and communicate on frequencies different from our own! When the sun sets, a whole new world comes to life, about which most of us know almost nothing. Although we share the same physical space as these creatures, we rarely encounter them. Evolution has endowed them with senses that we humans do not possess: senses that allow them to rule the night… just as we rule the day. Ars Musica 2026 sets course for the North under the title ARCTIC FEVER. For this opening night, the Cikada Ensemble, Norwegian, takes us on a sonic, visual, and olfactory dive designed by Kristine Tjøgersen, guest artist of this edition. A project created triumphantly in Oslo in 2023! An immersive journey where music, scenography, video, and scents combine to take us toward these species that see with sound… or listen with their sonars.
