Gideon Bodden (°1971) is the city carillonneur of Amsterdam (Munttoren, Oudekerkstoren, and Zuidertoren), Schoonhoven, Haastrecht, and Hilvarenbeek. He has won numerous carillon competitions, including the Koningin Fabiola competition in Mechelen in 1993. He regularly gives concerts at home and abroad, gives lectures, and provides masterclasses and courses in campanology. As a campanologist, Gideon Bodden designs bell profiles with classical geometric proportions and works with various bell foundries in Spain and Slovakia. Since February 2022, he has been running a new bell studio on the banks of the Hollandse IJssel in Gouda. Gideon Bodden was the chairman of the Nederlandse Klokkenspel Association from 2009 to 2012 and is currently the chairman of the entrepreneurs' association of GoudAsfalt, the creative breeding ground of Gouda.
