Edelweiss, Do-Re-Mi and So Long, Farewell: who didn't grow up with them? Weredi Musicals, Zangensemble Akkoord, Vocal Entertainment, DEC dance studio and CC de Meent join forces for a new, large-scale production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. The result is a semi-professional production that is bursting with energy and local pride. The story is legendary: The young, high-spirited novice Maria is appointed by her convent as governess for the seven children of the strict Captain Von Trapp. As the threat of the Tweede Wereldoorlog draws closer, Maria brings life, love, and above all, music back into the family. What makes this production extra "special" is the concept behind the scenes. Through this production, various local organizations have for years been giving local talent the chance to rise above themselves. After intensive open auditions, the most promising singers and actors from the region are on stage, flanked by experienced professionals.
