Duo Tokár Duo Tokár was founded in 2021 by clarinetist Emile Souvagie and guitarist Hannelore Vander Elst, born from a long-standing friendship. The duo's name refers to the Spanish verb 'tocar', which means to play, to touch, and to move. The unique combination of clarinet and guitar offers a rich and versatile sound palette, which the duo uses for a broad repertoire. In their program, they bring together music by, among others, Bartók, De Falla, Lekeu, and Villa-Lobos, alongside works by Astor Piazzolla and Toots Thielemans. Folk melodies, classical forms, and jazz sounds stand side by side in a program that builds bridges between continents and genres: from Europe to South America, from classical to jazz.
