De Europese beaver is common in Flanders thanks to a comeback.
It disappeared in 1848, and in the autumn of 2000, it was seen again in Flanders for the first time, coming from a population just across the border with Wallonia (Rixensart). Since then, we see more and more beaver tracks and therefore also in Zevergem.
Because beavers are mainly active during twilight and at night in the summer, we are going to look for their tracks from 7:00 PM. Where are the beavers active? Do you want to help search? Will we find any? Do you want to learn more about their way of life? Are there beaver dams in Zevergem? Zal Zevergem flooding again? Will we get a new village name? Bevergem...
Practical: we leave in groups of max. 20 people between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the Beverbar.
Distance: 4 km
