'MAMA', the road movie, is a tragicomic ride with Pascale's mother, Andrée Huysman, along forgotten streets, wild aunts, big feet, and even bigger soul stirrings. She never liked the spotlights, but with gentle coercion and lots of love, Platel brings her to the stage. Between champagne and brown bread with sugar, swimming naked, and Wagner, mother and daughter bump into everything that was never spoken: about love, shame, growing old, and saying goodbye. What follows is a tender, recognizable, and sometimes confrontational search for what binds and separates us. An intimate performance full of humor, pain, and warmth.
