Richard Mudge Concerto for organ in F major George Frideric Handel Organ concerto in A major, HWV 296 The organ concertos of George Frideric Handel, introduced in 1735 during the performances of his oratorios in London, met with great success. The soloist part, brilliant and virtuoso, was very likely performed by "Mr. Handel" himself, then celebrated as an exceptional organist. This program pays tribute to this composer who paved the way for a new genre: the concerto for organ and orchestra, soon taken up and developed by other musicians, such as Richard Mudge.
